BECOME A PTA MEMBER FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR!

Membership is only $10 per adult.

Parents, grandparents and other family members are encouraged to sign up!

Why join the PTA? Only PTA members are able to vote on how the PTA spends their funds and how to support the school.  PTA membership does not obligate you to volunteer or attend monthly meetings. Your participation, however, is welcome and we want to hear your voice!

Our PTA supports student enrichment, educational programs, community building events, parent education, teacher appreciation, school upgrades and so much more!   

If I join do I have to...

• Go to meetings?
  You don't have to attend our monthly PTA meetings, but we'd love to have you! PTA gives you a voting voice when you want to weigh in on how the PTA operates and spends the funds raised.
  
  
• Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school?
  Nope! Joining the PTA is not the same as volunteering. If you choose to volunteer we would LOVE the help—but volunteering is not required. 

With your 2023-2024 PTA membership:

• You will partner with the principal, teachers, and staff to make your child's school safe, welcoming, a great place of learning, and a fun place to be.
• You will help make sure parents and family members voices are heard when important decisions are made that affect Melinda Heights. This includes advocacy for students who receive special education and who are English learners.
• Through meetings, you will get to connect with other parents, and become part of California State PTA and National PTA, the largest and most powerful children’s advocacy organization in the country. (Note: You DO NOT have to volunteer or attend meetings, though we’d be happy to have you!)
• Our kids and their teachers still get access to the educational online software they know and love—Accelerated Reader and Lexia.
• PTA will provide opportunities for engagement and connection, including the Reflections art program, online book fairs, health week, family fun nights, Jog-A-Thon, the opportunity to purchase spirit wear, a helping hands NEGU toy drive, maintenance of our disaster preparedness materials, parent education, Walk Through History presentations, and staff appreciation. We also continue to offer Meet The Masters, STEM Lab, and Kids Run the OC.
