Melinda Heights Families,

On behalf of the Melinda Heights PTA, I would like to welcome back all of our returning families and extend a warm welcome to all of our new families! I am excited to continue my journey to support our amazing school and wonderful community by serving as your PTA president. We are so excited to have you all join our Melinda Heights Family; we are hoping that it will be a fun and successful year.

The purpose of our school’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is to promote a partnership between parents and teachers who strive to enhance student learning. With some COVID-19 restrictions still in place we are working closely with the school district to serve our school community in the best way we can. Our PTA has been hard at work planning and working with the current restrictions. We are looking forward to supporting our school’s educational efforts while providing enriching activities for our students and families. Melinda Heights is an amazing community of Students, Parents, Teachers and Staff—we can do this together, let's create the most memorable school year to date!

• Join the PTA! Your support strengthens your child's experiences at school. When you join the PTA, you are not obligated to attend meetings or volunteer, however it will give you the opportunity to vote at our PTA meetings.  Your opinion matters! Membership strengthens our vote for our children higher up the chain. We need to be their voice. • Participate in our Fundraisers! We will be starting the year with a Fall Straight Donation pledge. The fundraisers fund the many programs and activities that the PTA provides, such as our amazing STEM Lab, Meet the Masters Art Program, Accelerated Reader, technology, Family Fun and much more. Your financial support is crucial to continuing these programs at our school, we appreciate any donation at this time.
  
  
• Be a Volunteer! We love volunteers, we are currently waiting on more guidance on this. As soon as we can have our wonderful volunteers help again, we will be reaching out.

As room parents are identified over the coming month, they will reach out to you with opportunities to build your class community. We encourage you to take advantage.  We are stronger together and nothing can break the Melinda Heights ROAR!

Our first PTA meeting of the year is Tuesday, September 7th at 7:00pm in Person and via ZOOM. I hope you can join us, look out for ways to RSVP.
